Things We Saw Today: It’s the Broad City Season 4 Trailer!

Season 4 of Broad City premieres on August 23, and the trailer has dropped over at Comedy Central’s YouTube channel. Back in January, Abbi Jacobson described this season, set during a Trump presidency, as a “winter season” in which the main characters are “figuring it out and how to become more politically evolved.” And it looks like the girls will be bringing in a slew of guest stars, including RuPaul, Steve Buscemi, and Shania Twain, to help with that.

  • Nerdist has a great roundup of Wonder Woman merch, so you can bedeck yourself like the daughter of Themyscira you are.
  • Whaaa? Apparently there were two different English-language dubs of My Neighbor Totoro released? And the original, which I grew up with, is no longer available? You can read the whole history over at Kotaku.
  • It’s June, so the new Lord of the Rings Funko Pop! figures, including Frodo, Samwise, Gandalf, and the Balrog, should be popping up in stores.
  • Dan Aykroyd believes that the cost of reshoots ultimately doomed the new Ghostbusters in Sony’s eyes – and he thinks director Kevin Feig is to blame. Though Aykroyd liked the final product, he said Feig drove up the costs by not taking advice. “He didn’t shoot scenes we suggested to him,” he told Sunday Brunch, “and several scenes that were going to be needed, and he said ‘Nah, we don’t need them.’ Then we tested the movie, and they needed them, and he had to go back. About $ 30 to $ 40 million in reshoots. So he will not be back on the Sony lot any time soon.” You can read his full quote over at /Film and decide for yourself whether Aykroyd is being too harsh.
