THE BEATLES legends John Lennon and Paul McCartney both lost their mothers in childhood and both wrote beautiful tributes into classic songs. Paul said one of the most famous Beatles lines is for his mum – although one of his oldest friends claimed it had been written for him but changed “in case people got the wrong idea.”
