CREDIT CARDS are less rewarding than they used to be, as an EU clampdown on excessive fees has deterred providers from offering goodies such as cashback, points and rewards. The EU “interchange fee” cap ruling, introduced in 2015 to cut the cost of debit and credit cards, has backfired in spectacular fashion.
