Yesterday, comics fans got into a bit of a tizzy (some of us got into a bigger tizzy than others) about a variant cover for the upcoming first issue of Invincible Iron Man featuring Riri Williams looking way too sexualized for a 15-year-old character. The cover was originally a store variant for Midtown Comics in NYC, and now Marvel and Midtown have decided to pull the cover. The cover by J. Scott Campbell with the same pose, but wearing armor, is still available. Meanwhile, Marvel released interior artwork and sketches by Stefano Caselli who’ll actually be drawing Riri most of the time. • In a recent interview with Complex, Joss Whedon reveals his desire to direct a Star Wars anthology film! Thoughts? (via Screen Crush)
• Warner Bros. has greenlit a film adaptation of the book Crazy Rich Asians, planning for it to have an all-Asian cast, which would be a first for a Hollywood film! (via Deadline Hollywood)
• We’re excited about Kirsten Dunst making her directorial debut with a film adaptation of Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar. Now, she’s cast her Fargo co-star (and real-life boyfriend) Jesse Plemons in the film! (via The Hollywood Reporter)

Shadow and Act provides the video of actor David Oyelowo’s recent speech at the BFI London Film Festival’s Black Star Symposium where he talked about…diversity, a topic he’s admittedly sick of. Definitely watch the entire speech. It’s about half an hour long, but it’s so worth it.

• If you love Ransom Riggs’ world of the “peculiars,” you’ll be happy to know that there’s another Miss Peregrine’s book trilogy in the works! (via The Hollywood Reporter)
• Issa Rae, not content to take over the comedic space with her hilarious HBO show Insecure, is also producing an all-female comedy anthology series called Minimum Wage, which she created in partnership with Project Greenlight Digital. (via Women in Hollywood)
• Lastly, Maureen O’Connor draws some interesting parallels between the current Presidential election and the film Election. (via New York Magazine)
