The Chief review: A biography of Britain’s greatest press baron
More than 20 years ago, American historian David Nasaw wrote a biography of newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst which he called The Chief. Now English historian Andrew Roberts has written the story of Hearst’s almost exact contemporary Alfred Harmsworth, 1st Viscount Northcliffe and has also called it The Chief.
