I love history. I probably have several thousand history books on my shelves. Most of them feature tales of long ago. Dominic Sandbrook’s latest is not in that category. The fifth in his series about post-war Britain, it covers four years 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1982 – from the time Margaret Thatcher became Britain’s first female Prime Minister to the summer of 1982 and the end of the Falklands War.
